All-new Honda CR-V marks Honda’s first 5-star rating for new NCAP protocol

Following its recent debut on our shores, Honda has more to boast about the all-new CR-V after receiving their scores from ASEAN’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Having been thoroughly tested of its features and rigidity, the new Honda CR-V gets a full 5-star safety rating from NCAP despite having more stringent Assessment Protocols since the start of 2017.

Achieving an overall score of 88.0/100, the Honda CR-V has been tested by NCAP for frontal offset impact, side impact, and had all of its safety features evaluated to arrive at the total score. Paramount to receiving this score is the new Honda SENSING feature which uses a milimeter-wave radar and a monocular camera mounted on the windscreen to provide greater awareness to the driver while on the move.

Paired with Honda SENSING, the CR-V also has LaneWatch which gives an extra 80 degree view on the right hand side mirror through a small camera that effectively eliminates blind spots on the other side of the driver.

Aside from these, the All-New CR-V offers a full range of active and passive safety features along with the standard body structure featuring Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE), G-Force Control (G-CON) technology, Dual SRS Airbags, i-Side Airbags, Side Curtain Airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), and a Multi-angle Rearview Camera. All of these features allowed the CR-V to receive top marks and will ensure the safety of all its occupants.
