The Government announcements regarding COVID-19 are having a major impact on the Scheme. Most dealership showrooms are now closed, meaning they are unable to accept any new orders, manage handovers or car returns.
As we are unable to accept any new orders, the latest prices for the Motability Scheme will not be launched as usual on 1 April 2020. We are monitoring the situation and will advise when this changes.
Meanwhile, if you are coming to the end of your lease, we will automatically extend this for six months. There will be no need to contact us; and you will continue to be insured.
If you plan to leave the Scheme at the end of your lease, contact us so we can discuss arrangements.
Motability is a worry-free scheme provided by a registered charity under a UK Government initiative. Starting back in 1977, the scheme has enabled those with a disability and their families to get more mobile by exchanging their mobility allowance for a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair. Currently over 500,000 people have purchased a car on the scheme, enjoying all the freedom that comes with a truly worry-free lease.
At Honda, we pride ourselves on making reliable, safe and long-lasting cars. Our all-inclusive Motability package takes away so much of the hassle of owning a car as we arrange car insurance,
RAC breakdown assistance, servicing and maintenance - everything is included in the price you pay. Plus you can choose from some of our exciting Honda models including Jazz, Civic, CR-V and HR-V.
To be eligible to join the Motability Scheme, you need to receive one of the following mobility allowances and you must have at least 12 months’ award length remaining.
Please note that the Attendance Allowance cannot be used to lease a car through the Scheme.
To join Motability is very simple. All you need to do is exchange either your Higher Rate Mobility Allowance or War Pensioners Mobility Supplement for a brand new car every three years. Some cars will require an Advance Payment, which is payable to your dealer when you collect your car. Remember: you need to be receiving your allowance for the full length of the agreement. However, if you have at least 12 months award remaining, you’re free to join.
